Cover textual analysis

This is an XXL magazine featuring Wu-Tang clan on the front cover and cover lines from LL Cool J, Nelly and a 2Pac tribute.
This magazine is aimed at young teenagers  and people in their 20’s who listen to rap music a lot of time. The Wu-Tang members are all dressed as part of a baseball team with New York Yankees jerseys on, this is done because all members are from New York. The main cover line focuses completely on the cover picture being Wu-Tang, inclining there is a huge article inside about the creation of Wu-Tang. RZA is holding the pitchers glove indicating he is the leader of the clan, Method Man is next to RZA to show he is second in command. They are mixing hip-hop with their hometown favourite sport, as a team to show they work as a unit. The cover lines feature some well known names from the Wu-Tang era which could appeal to customers more. Their facial expressions are blank and happy which shows the members’ personality more. The sky in the background gives the cover a more bright accent to make the shirts look whiter. The clan are also wearing durags and bandanas to implement their own style into the cover. The masthead is placed on the left side of the page for a better text layout. The text is bold and stands out a lot. The shot distance is medium to get all the members in the picture. The main cover line is aimed at RZA as he is a well known producer meaning he produces the songs created by artists.
